The venue is functional, perfectly clean and the location is wonderful very close to Hamiot, the nearby night club at 3 am and a Victorian London pub. The hotel rooms are outstanding and large with a balcony overlooking the port as well as all necessary facilities. The staff is extremely friendly and very amiable.

Very French, little English spoken, which I like. Good reataurant, Brasserie. Plesant location. Twin bedded rooms were available, unlike many chains.
A bit noisy outside if your room is on the front, busy street and constant gulls, but this was minor as it was a good airy room

The best bits were the location, the cleanliness and the friendly staff*, as well as being able to park there which was important. We ate their most evenings and were very happy with our meals. Good towels too, always a plus. All very smart and modern in a quaint, brasserie-style setting. 'Older' waiter with moustache was especially lovely!
We were initially given a (very) small double room although the booking was for a twin room. We had to press to have this changed the next morning. *The receptionist who spoke better English was not available except at check-in and check-out so questions like 'can we have an iron?' Were difficult (we couldn't apparently). Annoyingly, the curtains didn't quite meet when closed, the corners of the beds were sharp and the mirrors were oddly placed, but these are just small gripes

After a long road trip from Paris - and after four weeks on the road through Europe not knowing what to expect from one booking to the next - it was great to find that the Hamiot lived up to expectations, complete with a cosy bar and restaurant. Room was clean, well appointed and spacious. Receptionist had a great sense of humour and made us feel very welcome.
Bedroom decor.

The food in the restaurant and the bistro is excellent - as is the service. Rooms (we had two in our group) were clean with views of the harbour. If you need a car park book it with the hotel in advance.

Location to the sea front, though not the sandy beach.
My wife always likes to book a room with a balcony. However, when we opened the doors onto the balcony to our room, we were shocked by the amount of seabird crap on the table, floor, chairs and the balcony's glass surround. One got the immediate impression that these areas had not been cleaned for a long time. Given the number of seabirds flying around and perched nearby, the whole balcony area needs to be inspected and cleaned at least once per day. We should not have had to clean the table and chairs on arrival. Visitors should be aware that the view from the balcony is of the marina/harbour rather than the sandy beach. The sandy beach is at least a ten minute walk away! Its also a pity that the glass panelling near the entrance to the Reception area on the footpath side was smashed, like a heavy object had been thrown into it. Considering the cost of the Room at 100 Euros we expected a better presentation. The carpet and stairwell near the Reception area we found to be dusty.

Restaurant attached to hotel was brilliant. Food was top class and good value for money
Breakfast was very expensive (10euros) for selfservice with a very small selection

The hotel is nicely soundproofed. I had a lovely room overlooking the river. The breakfast was good value and the room was very reasonably priced for its comfort. The town has a beautifully preserved medieval centre, just 10 minutes up the hill, and if you are a walker, there are spectacular opportunites for rambling along the spectacular cliffs on both sides of the port. This is a very French town, so dont worry about "hords of whinging poms". They dont come here much anymore with the Chunnel. The hotel has both an excellent brasserie and a restaurant.
